CarouselWhat happens when the govt gets too much power over the very judges meant to hold it accountable?🤔 The Emergency of 1975 exposed the dangers of executive interference in the judiciary. From superseded judges to the ADM Jabalpur verdict, these events left a lasting mark on India’s judicial history. Years later, the Judges Cases reshaped judicial appointments, paving the way for the Collegium system. Swipe to see how the Emergency changed the story of judicial independence 👉 [Indian Emergency 1975, Collegium System, Judicial Independence, Supreme Court of India, ADM Jabalpur Case, Judges Cases, Indian Constitution] #indianemergency #collegiumsystem #judicialindependence #indianconstitution #legalawareness

ReelsEvery Individual Has the Right to Access the Internet, Including Children - Supreme Court🫡 📌The Supreme Court of India has recognised internet access as a fundamental right for everyone, including children, while hearing a case concerning the online circulation of Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Material (CSEAM). The case also raised concerns about social media platforms failing to adequately report and address such material. ❓The key question was whether children’s access to the internet should be restricted or banned because of the risks of online sexual abuse and exploitation. The Court considered whether keeping children off the internet was the right way to protect them from these dangers. ⚖️ The Court rejected a blanket age-based ban, holding that the right to access and use the internet is a fundamental right under Articles 21 and 19(1)(a) of the Constitution. It emphasised that children’s safety and freedom must go hand in hand. Instead of restricting children’s access, protection should focus on removing harmful content and holding those responsible accountable, alongside safeguards such as parental supervision and child-safe settings. CarouselThe Crisis of 1991 Explained😲 Imagine a country having to send its gold abroad just to keep its economy running. In 1991, that country was India. With barely enough dollars to pay for a few weeks of imports, India pledged 46.91 tonnes of gold to raise $405 million. What followed was a crisis that pushed India towards one of the biggest economic turning points in its history. CarouselJantar Mantar no longer legal protest site😲 📌For over three decades, Jantar Mantar has been a landmark of public protest. Now, with Delhi Police de-notifying it as a designated protest site, the debate goes beyond security and traffic management. Should protests be confined to designated grounds, or should citizens be able to raise their voices closer to the institutions they want held accountable? . . . . . . . . . . . ReelsLaw & Order vs YOUR RIGHTS!⚖️ Section 144 (Section 163 BNSS) may be imposed in the interest of public safety and security. CarouselA Protest Banned. Leaders Detained. Delhi on Lockdown😲 📌 On October 10, Delhi witnessed sweeping security restrictions ahead of a CJP-led protest demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged irregularities in voter-list revisions. 🚨 CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and fellow leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained after arriving at Delhi airport. Other protesters and activists were also detained, while Metro stations were closed, train services disrupted and mobile internet suspended in parts of central Delhi. The Supreme Court questioned the extent of transport restrictions, calling for regulated services rather than a complete shutdown. ⚖️ The larger question: How do we balance public order with the constitutional right to peaceful protest? Swipe through to understand the allegations, the law, and what protesters and police need to know.
