For Day 3 of Nine Days Nine Crafts, the colour is RED ❤ For Day 3, I made a Madhubani art inspired toran for Navratri! I painted traditional motifs like the sun, moon, peacock, fish pair, shankh, kalash and owl on a cotton canvas using HD acrylic colours. Day 4: Maa Kushmanda - Creativity 🌼🎨 Maa Kushmanda represents creativity, vitality and the power of creation. For Day 4, I wanted to explore this through the art of turning something ordinary into something beautiful and meaningful. 🌷 That’s why I chose to do this with @lavanyahandmades. Day 2 of Nine Days Nine Crafts, and today’s colour is white! 🤍✨ For today’s craft, I tried my hand at Aipan, a traditional art form from Uttarakhand made using geru (red ochre) and a white paste of ground rice. Traditionally, Aipan designs are made to decorate courtyards, entrances and places of worship, especially during festivals and auspicious occasions. What makes this art form special is the use of gold foil and raised detailing that gives the paintings their distinctive look. This was my first time trying this technique, and honestly, there was SO much to learn!
