ReelsAn evergreen melody, and that unforgettable humming from Kadhal Rojave. 🎶✨ I loved decoding this one translating the akaram into swaras helps us actually visualise how the melody moves. ReelsSinging Mistake #10: Getting Louder as You Sing Higher 🎶 I see many students automatically increasing their volume as the notes go higher. But singing higher does not mean you need to sing louder. 📈 In fact, a little reverse psychology often works better, try singing the higher notes slightly softer and focus on maintaining a more consistent volume throughout. 🎯 This helps reduce unnecessary pushing and gives you much better control over your voice. ✨ If you want to work on your vocal technique with structured guidance, join my Live Voice Culture Curriculum. ReelsHere’s the 7 Speed Alankara! 🎯 One of my favourite exercises to challenge your rhythm, precision and control. 🎶 The interesting part here is that the tempo stays exactly the same, what changes is the number of swaras we fit into each beat. As we move through different speeds, the rhythmic feel completely changes, making this such a fun way to experience the concept of ‘Gati’ in practice. 🚀 If you enjoyed this exercise, explore our Multi-Raga Alankara courses on the VoxGuru App for many more such practice challenges. ✨ Comment “App” and we’ll send you the download link for both iOS and Android. 📱

ReelsA Vinayaka Chaturthi special on Pattum Paatum! 🐘✨ This time, I picked the much-loved “Vatapi Ganapatim” in Raga Hamsadhwani and Dwarak, of course, had a saree ready for the occasion. 😄 He chose this beautiful Kanchivaram in chandan yellow and purple, and the colours instantly felt so festive and auspicious for Vinayaka Chaturthi. 💛💜 What we loved even more was how naturally the saree conversation led us into the music. Hamsadhwani itself carries such a bright, auspicious feel and is often heard right at the beginning of a Carnatic concert, so it felt especially fitting for this episode. 🎶 A little bit of music, a little bit of saree talk, and plenty of festive mood in this one. ✨ Now tell me, what song should I challenge Dwarak with next? 😄 Drop your ideas in the comments!

ReelsReally loved singing this beautiful Thillana in raga Desh 🎶 One of my favourite compositions of Vidwan Lalgudi Jayaraman. What I enjoy most about this piece is how seamlessly rhythm meets melody. Wearing this special saree from @sondhamindia . Blue is my all time favourite colour and I can’t think of a better combination with the soft gold and red border. Also it brings out a nice blend between traditional and modern, just like our Thillana. Super excited to add this to my wardrobe collection ❤️ A special mention to @deekshithmusic for the beautiful music arrangement and mixing. This piece had its own challenges with the rhythmic patterns and structure, and he has handled it so thoughtfully, retaining the original melody while bringing in a subtle modern vibe. Do reach out to him for your next music project!

ReelsSinging mistake #2 – Trying to sing as loudly as possible 🎤 I meet many students who push their throat while singing because they’ve been told to “sing loudly.” This is a common mistake and can lead to vocal strain over time. Singing shouldn’t be powered by the throat. It comes from proper breath support and the use of vocal registers. In this reel, you can clearly hear the difference in tone between throat-driven singing and a well-supported voice 🎶 If you enjoyed this and want to learn more such techniques with professional guidance, come join our live voice culture course. just comment 'Join' and we'll send you all the details 💛

ReelsPattum Pattum – Ep. 3 | Women’s Day Special ✨ On this special occasion, we’re sharing a beautiful song that’s very close to our hearts. Dwarak has picked the perfect saree to match the mood of the song. One interesting aspect of this piece is the use of two different shades of Ma — the lower Ma or Shuddha Madhyamam in the Pallavi, and the higher Ma or Prati Madhyamam in the verse. ReelsPattum Paattum – Ep 2 where Music meets Saree 🎶🧵 Shivaratri special today! ✨ I sang Chandrachooda Shiva Shankara in Raga Durbari Kanada… and Dwarak picked this beautiful saree for it. Black – for the stillness of the night 🌙 Plain body – no distractions. Just calm. Yellow border – light at the end of the tunnel 💛 Durbari Kanada that I sang is a Hindustani based Raga. So it contains lighter gamakas compared to the Carnatic Ragas. That’s beautifully shown in this saree which carries a lighter fusion vibe. Tell me – which raga or which saree should we do next? 😊
