2016. The year that changed everything. The year of many firsts. ICONIC (!!!) This was the year I quit my job at Google. Not because I was unhappy - I genuinely loved it. I loved the people, the work, the feeling of being in the right place at the right time. But somewhere between work trips, random moments of gratitude, dreaming a little too much, and wanting something I couldn’t fully explain yet…I knew I wanted more. That one decision led to so many firsts - my first time on national TV, my first reality show, my first travel vlog, my first scuba dive, my first tattoo, my first GoPro, my first time singing to strangers, my first time choosing uncertainty over comfort. It was also the year when friendships grew stronger, some dreams got louder - but fear was always present and so was excitement. What hits me now isn’t how bold I was. It’s how trusting I was. I trusted myself without knowing how things would turn out. I trusted that wanting a different life was reason enough to go after it. 2016 wasn’t perfect. It was messy, overwhelming, and chaotic in the best way. Forever grateful for that version of me who just went for it. Maybe we need the unhinged Nitibha back for 2026?
