Jewellery organisers that have genuinely made my life easier. Till a few months ago, Aarna and my jewellery would be in multiple drawers, pouches and random boxes. And when it was actually time to wear something, I couldn’t find it! 😩 I would feel so miserable knowing we had these pieces, but not knowing where they were. So I finally decided to change that. I went through all our jewellery, discarded pieces I didn’t need, kept the ones I actually love and use, and ordered organisers for everything. And honestly, it has made my life SO much easier. I now have separate organisers for my party earrings, everyday earrings and festive earrings, a separate one for my maang tikkas, and the delicate necklace organiser has been a game changer — my necklaces don’t get tangled anymore and I can actually see what I have. I also have separate organisers for my tennis bracelets, chudis and bracelets, plus a jewellery diary and travel organisers for when I’m travelling. And the best part? Do your girls also love raiding your makeup? Because mine do!! Aarna and Saanvi is forever getting into my makeup drawer and this time I caught Saanvi red-cheeked — quite literally! She had my Rare Beauty blush all over her face. 😂 And while I love that she’s curious and wants to experiment, I’m not really comfortable with her using my makeup. I’m not okay with my expensive makeup getting destroyed, and there’s always the risk of irritation or an allergic reaction on the kids. After all, adult makeup isn’t made with kids in mind and has chemicals etc not suitable for them. So I decided to get her some makeup options made for kids that she can play around with and get creative with — without raiding my makeup drawer! Yes I’m that mausi who spoils her niece with her favorite gifts! I keep these for special occasions like birthdays, festivals, annual concerts and school functions, rather than everyday use. We’re a pure vegetarian family — we don’t even eat eggs — and with two super-active kids who are constantly swimming, skating, cycling, running around or doing one activity or another, making sure their everyday meals have enough protein is something I consciously think about. But I don’t make separate “protein meals” for them. Instead, I try to make small changes to the ghar ka khana we already eat — adding a little more nutrition and protein to foods they already enjoy. Comment PROTEIN and I’ll send you the links to the protein mix I use in our food. What I like about this protein mix is that it’s a blend of soy, pea and brown rice protein isolates, along with almond, jowar and makhana. It gives 12g of protein per scoop, is completely unflavoured, and has no added sugar or preservatives — which is why it works so easily in our everyday meals. And here are some other ways I add more nutrition and protein to our everyday vegetarian meals: • Soya chunks in tikkis or kebabs • Rajma galouti kebabs • Rice-paper rolls with tofu filling • Tofu in stir-fries, wraps or curries • Hung curd dips • Paneer wraps or sandwiches • Peanut butter on toast or with fruit • Sprouts in fried rice • Besan dhokla • Mixed-dal dosa Because sometimes, adding a little more to the food they already love is easier than making something completely different. ❤️ Save this for later! #VegetarianProtein #ProteinForKids #HealthyKidsMeals #HealthyFamilyMeals #littlejoys

I just wished, “Sunday brunch, but make it a little magical.” And well, it came true! Had the most wonderful Sunday brunch at @houdini_lowerparel , Lower Parel, and this was SO different from our usual brunches. 😂 Houdini has a fixed 3-course brunch menu, and everything we tried was genuinely delicious. My absolute picks? The Maharashtrian Mezze — especially that green chilli thecha — and the No Bake Sea Salt Tart. That tart! 😍 I’m still thinking about it. But honestly, the food was only half the experience. The ambience was electric. There’s a magician/mentalist walking around the restaurant doing tricks, and honestly, we thought it would be the usual cards-and-coins kind of magic. Until he took my hand, looked at me and somehow guessed the name of a college friend that I was thinking about. 😳 I genuinely sat there with my jaw on the floor for the next hour trying to figure out HOW. 😂 And it wasn’t just us — you could hear gasps coming from tables all around us. And suddenly the name Houdini made perfect sense. Because here, the magic isn’t just in the magician. It’s in the food, the presentation, the atmosphere and those little moments that leave you wondering, “Wait… HOW DID HE DO THAT?” A little magic, a little mischief and a LOT of brunch. ✨ Definitely one to add to your Sunday brunch list! We are featured on Mumbai Mirror! This came out a little while ago, in August, and I hadn’t got around to putting it up here. But perhaps it’s fitting that I’m sharing it now, because this one really did take me back. 🤍 When Janhvi met me at a park for this story, she really took the time to listen, understand our story and get to know the why behind the way I parent. We went through my Instagram highlights from years ago together, and I found myself reliving so many little moments with the kids. The sensory play, the messy experiments, gardening, outdoor play, the things I tried during lockdown, the things that worked and the things that didn’t. Things that had become so ordinary to me suddenly felt really special. And honestly, it also made me realise that maybe I wasn’t that bad a mother after all. 😄 If I had met someone today who was doing all these things with her children, I would have thought, wow, what an awesome mom. If you’re a toddler mom, you might want to look up “Daily Activity” and “Our Activity” in my highlights — there are tons of ideas there. And I’m so glad I chose this kind of parenting — letting them explore, get bored, use their hands, make mistakes, figure things out and simply be. And I have Instagram to thank for so much of that. This little corner of the internet has guided me at so many steps of my parenting journey — through people I followed, ideas I saved and things I learnt along the way. My first baby. ❤️ I still find it hard to believe that the little boy I once taught to stand and take his first steps had now packed his bags to leave for college. I have watched you grow up right in front of my eyes. I’ve dropped you to your first school, went through playdough tubs with you, made food for you, looked after you, worried about you, celebrated your little wins and been a part of so many ordinary moments that, looking back now, were actually the most extraordinary ones. And today, watching you leave for this new chapter is making me feel a hundred emotions at once. I am so incredibly proud of the person you have become. You are smart, kind, capable and genuinely one of the best boys I know. I have no doubt that you are going to do amazing things and build a beautiful life for yourself. But somewhere between all that excitement and pride, there is a little (no lot) ache in my heart. Because you were my first baby. Before I had Yuvraaj and Aarna, I got to experience some motherhood with you. You taught me how deeply you can love a child who isn’t your own. You taught me to worry, to care, to nurture, to celebrate the smallest milestones. In so many ways, you were my first lesson in being a mother. And perhaps that is why watching you grow up has made me so conscious of how quickly childhood passes. You are one of the reasons I hold on so tightly to the little moments with my own children today. Because I know now that the school drops, the meals, the hugs, the silly conversations and all those seemingly insignificant days… disappear far too quickly. So go, my boy. ❤️ Go see the world. Learn. Make mistakes. Find yourself. Become even wiser, kinder and stronger. And come back to us soon. Because no matter how tall you get, how far you travel or how many years pass, a part of my heart will always see the little boy I watched grow up. You were my first baby. While tying Rakhi to Yuvraaj, Aarna suddenly started showering blessings on her bhaiya, and it was the sweetest thing. 🥹 No one told her what to say. No one asked her to say anything. She just sat there, tying his Rakhi and wishing for him to always be safe, healthy, happy and surrounded by everything good. It went from being a Rakhi that was meant to protect her, to a little protection thread for her sweet bhaiya. 🧿 There was something so pure about watching her find her own words for someone she loves so much. And maybe, somewhere along the way, all those little blessings and affirmations I say to her have found their way back through her. This is the moment I’ll remember from this Rakhi. When I conceived Aarna, Yuvraaj was just 15 months old. I remember being scared. How would I manage two such little children? Would I be able to do justice to them? Give them both enough time, attention and love? Today, when I see them together now, all those years of tiredness somehow feel worth it. ❤️ Because, at the end of the day, they are the only two people who will ever know this exact version of their childhood — the same home, the same parents, the same stories, the same little moments. With Rakhi around the corner, I find myself feeling extra grateful for this bond they share. Because while they may fight over the silliest things today, one day they’ll realise they have each other to come back to — the one person who lived the same childhood they did. ❤️ And when they look back at their Europe trip years from now, I hope they remember these little things more than the places we visited. Motherhood is beautiful, but it’s also exhausting in ways nobody prepares you for. The mental load, the constant rushing, the feeling of being needed every second of the day… sometimes I get so caught up in managing life that I forget to simply sit in it. December scenes ✨ December felt so packed, it honestly felt like a whole year in itself. Every single day had something going on, and now when I look back, I genuinely wonder—how did I manage it all? Brunches, hosting an event, attending work events, taking the kids to play areas and game zones, walking the ramp as a showstopper, a quick Varun-and-me Goa trip, late-night parties, and then a family trip to Udaipur. I ate a lot but still managed to work out consistently. Did brand campaigns, attended a Satyanarayan puja, experimented in the kitchen, and melted watching my child perform on stage. There was a Santa photoshoot, Aarna learning to cycle on her own, Yuvraaj mastering the wave board, my first Sunburn with David Guetta live, endless brunches and carnivals, dental check-ups ticked off, board games with the kids, birthday parties… and falling in love with Udaipur all over again. Christmas is here and you’ll see the markets flooded with red desserts. But do you know that the colour used in making most Red Velvet cakes has been linked to: 🔺Hyperactivity & ADHD-like symptoms 🔺Allergic reactions and skin rashes 🔺Increased risk of cancer Experts believe that this synthetic color Red Dye 40 (also known as Allura Red AC/ E129/ FD&C Red 40) may cause behavioural changes due to: - Depletion of minerals like zinc and iron - Chemical changes in the brain - Hypersensitivity, causing allergic reactions Red 40 is also found in juice, ice cream, candies, cereals, dairy products etc! This was a huge red flag for me, and now I don’t allow my kids to have any Red/ Pink desserts. Some countries have banned/ restricted the use of E129 in food & drinks, but not India. Don’t believe me? Just look up any red food color and read the ingredients. While Red Dye is synthetic, some prefer the natural red color - Carmine/ Crimson Lake. But it can cause allergic reactions, skin rashes, and asthma. After all, it’s made from crushed bodies of dried cochineal insects (tiny parasites that live on prickly pear cacti).  Do you know children are more affected by synthetic colours than adults? So also watch out for these colours: 💛Yellow 5 (Tartrazine): hyperactivity and allergic reactions 💛Yellow 6 (Sunset Yellow FCF): potential cancer risk and hyperactivity 💙Blue 1 (Brilliant Blue FCF): skin irritation, allergic reactions, and potential cancer risk 💙Blue 2 (Indigo Carmine): potential cancer risk and skin irritation So, do read the labels. Some meals stay with you long after they’re over… and our visit to @malgudi.ind by @shankar.mahadevan , now open in Lower Parel, Mumbai, was exactly that kind of experience. A space that celebrates South Indian flavours with so much love, nostalgia and creativity — and you can feel it from the very first bite. What made the evening even more special was the legend himself, Shankar Mahadevan, walking from table to table, personally asking every guest about their experience. There was something so genuine and grounding about that moment… a reminder that food, music, and hospitality come from the same place — the heart. At one point, we got so engrossed in conversation that we didn’t realise our Ghee Podi Thatte Idli was getting cold — and he gently reminded us to eat it while it was still piping hot because that’s when it tastes the best. Honestly, I’m not sure… because even when it wasn’t very hot, it was still divine. And oh, the food. Top-notch. Thoughtful. Comforting. Innovative. From the Podi Cheese Balls, Butter Pepper Garlic Water Chestnut, and Anna Style Crispy Lotus Root to the Benne Dosa, Mulbagal Legacy Dosa, Ghee Podi Thatte Idli, and the Sri Lankan Tamil Curry With Idiyappam — each dish had its own story. My personal favourite? The Sri Lankan Tamil Curry With Idiyappam, soulful and absolutely unforgettable. We ended with the Bisi Bele Bibimbap, Kaki Sheera, and an Iced Kaapi With Jaggery that deserves its own fanbase. And if you’re a filter coffee lover… theirs is out of this world. But the cocktails come a close second! If you enjoy experiential South Indian food that feels both familiar and fresh, this place is a must-visit. We recently updated the Aadhaar biometrics for our kids — and it turned out to be super quick and super simple. Aadhaar biometric updation is now mandatory for children from KG onwards as per government guidelines. So if your child is 5 years or older, this is something you need to get done. And with the holiday season coming (aka the time we finally finish all pending tasks 😅), this is the perfect moment to get it out of the way. ♦️Why is this update needed? Aadhaar made before age 5 has no biometrics. After 5, the government needs your child’s fingerprints + iris scan so their Aadhaar stays valid as they grow. What a beautiful baby shower celebrating @simone.khambatta and the little bundle of joy on the way.
